1. Bissell SpotBot Pet handsfree spot and stain Portable Deep Cleaner, Blue

I’ve been using this product since I got it 6 months ago & It has come in handy SO MANY times. While it doesn’t have “magic” cleaning properties like some people claim, it does have great cleaning abilities due to it’s ability to break down embedded food/stains and because you can use soapy water on most surfaces (including floors. to get those all but impossible to remove stains off. Of course, you need to follow up with a good scrubbing or vacuum step, etc. , but this little guy is truly amazing at what it can do.

The funny thing is that it will even “clean itself” if something gets lodged in the collection box while running…ouch, even when it’s supposed to be clogged. FYI, my dog sheds year round and I found pieces of her fur EVERYWHERE. This was such a pain as well as my furniture…it had become gross after being exposed to so much hair all year. Anyway, this item definitely saved me tons of money as well as time from having to call a professional cleaner – who would charge me an arm and a leg just to drive somewhere and pick it up.

If you want to see the results of what this little guy can really do, go on YouTube and type in Bissel spot bot 678. You’ll find several videos there of people whose homes have been totally transformed by this handy device. Well, I think mine needs another one…this thing works so well that I want to give it to everyone.

2. Hoover Spotless Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner, FH11300PC

I have been using this product for many years. I am not a professional but when my mother had cancer we took over all her duties. The carpets werehers are amazing. No more lifting heavy furniture etc.

It’s so easy to spot clean now. When vacuuming I even notice how well it picks up hair etc. As an avid DIY person doing every home task myself I love this product. When vacuuming/washing floors I noticed that similar to most other products, the cleaning process works best if done in small sections. This allows me to move quickly and effectively clean large areas without having to stop often.

The reason why I gave 4 stars for ease of use is because some times the sprayer will not function correctly. I have changed the nozzel sprayer several times but still doesn’t work properly at times. Not sure what the issue is but I would say maybe one out of 10 times. The price has increased about 25% in past few months which was shocking as I consider this a staple item.

3. Bissell Pet Stainer PowerBrush, 2837

I have been using this product for years now after I adopted my first dog. He was an older dog that lived on the streets and had some health issues but he wasn’t exactly dirty. After he passed, I wanted to make sure all traces of him were gone if I bought another one. This product makes quick work of stuck on or stubborn stains. It has saved me many times from having to call out a cleaning service. The best part is how easy it is to use right out of the box.

You do need to charge it (approximately 3 hours) but there are instructions on how to do so. As long as you keep the lid closed while charging, everything will be fine. When finished, push the red button and voila. It’s amazing what comes out of these things – even the hair shakes off easily. If I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that most people don’t want to give up their car because their dog peed in the backseat.

So they just leave it there until it gets dry enough to wash away. What a waste of money. With this product, those situations are a thing of the past.

4. Oxy Stain Remover Rocco Roxie

This product is amazing. I had tried a bunch of different spot removers and none of them worked as well as this one. Honestly I’m surprised because most of the ones I’ve used aren’t even effective on furniture which requires a bit more effort to clean. My couch was stained pretty badly with cat pee and after trying other products I didn’t stand a chance. This stuff comes in a nice long wand that you can point directly at the area you need to clean.

Then an oxygen burst happens allowing the cleaning solution to seep into the fabric and really gets going. After rinsing there’s no trace of my stain left and it has a very fresh scent too. It doesn’t harm the fibers of the carpet like many spot cleaners do and actually makes them feel softer afterwards. If I could give 10 stars I would.

5. Weiman 3 in 1 Deep Leather Cleaner & Conditioner Cream

I have been using this product for years. I apply it with a lint free cloth (one of those orange cleaning towels you can pick up at the grocery store). It helps remove stains and smells from my cars seats without any problems. I’ve even used it on my motorcycle gear and it works great. This year I decided to try it on one of my jackets that I had previously cleaned but then allowed to dry.

Well, after cleaning it with other products before, I didn’t like how it turned out. Then I tried THIS product and it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The shine came back and the color is much richer than when I first cleaned it. My regular cleaner still doesn’t do what this does so easily and quickly. Try it once.

You’ll be glad you did. BTW, there are no directions on the bottle, just read the insert and it will tell you everything you need to know.

6. BISSELL Little Green Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner, 1400B

I have been using this for a while now. I am actually the person who brought it back into use after so many years of sitting in my garage like obsolete trash. We had a sudden guest over that was very messy and dirty and she left all her messes on our carpet when she went home. After vacuuming and sweeping (my husband is really good at doing house work) didn’t do the job well enough, I decided to try this out. It makes such a huge difference.

Dirty spots are gone, no matter what color their stain was. Even if the spot was right next to the edge of where the rug meets the floor, it still works. As others mentioned though, it does tend to burnish some things. we don’t care too much as we found one of our rugs underneath mostly undamaged by this product. Care should be taken when using this near certain areas like rugs, but overall, it has saved us thousands of dollars in cleaning costs.

7. Armor All Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner Spray for Tough Stains

I had a professional do my carpets in my home. Unfortunately, he used this stuff on the carpet in my living room couch area where it stuck to the furniture. It took him 2 days to get all of it out of there. I have been fighting this smell ever since (my carpet is not an outdoor rug). This stuff really works. The odor elimination part is quite effective.

Just be aware if you use this on any leather products, it will ruin them as well. My couches are indoor rugs so I didn’t think that would be too much of an issue but apparently it is. Also, my dogs love this stuff – when they walk across it or sit on it, it leaves a funky odor behind. I just sprayed it on the back side of the furniture hoping that would remove whatever residue that was left after the original stain treatment. So far, no luck. But again, once the item is dry, the odor seems to dissipate significantly.

8. Hoover CleanSlate Plus Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover, Portable

I have a light colored carpet in my kids room (toddler/preschool) and when they play on it I know it will be ruined no matter what I do. My vacuum broke just before this last school year and I haven’t gotten around to replacing it so my carpets were super gross with broken bits of foam all over them. When I started cleaning the floors I noticed how bad it was; would give you anything if you could make it look new again. So glad I found these because it made such a huge difference. Bought this and used it on the whole house and then did one full pass through each area using their other products as needed. This took me two days instead of one day but I had been doing this kind of work forever so wasn’t really concerned about time.

It worked SO well. After being able to see results after just an hour I decided to take on the edges and corners etc too and even the drywall where the paint is chipping away. Also made sure to spray the handle pieces and the wand piece that connects to the hose to wash off excess liquid since they were dry. Washed everything with a couple wipes of paper towel and finished with a good sweeping motion with the broom to bring in extra dust bunnies. Even came back the next morning to do it again and still felt like it made a big difference. Very happy with the results.
